On the 3 April 1881 census
Frederick G. was 4 and living at
11 Commercial Road, West Teignmouth, Devon
with his mother, Sarah, age 32
and brothers John H., age 8, William E., age 6,
Herbert W., age 2 and Laurence 10 months.
His father John who was a mariner would have been 31 and
was not at this address on the day of the census.
At the same address were Thomas and Elizabeth Holland,
husband and wife, comedian and comedienne.

10 years later on the 1891 census
Frederick was 14, an errand boy, was at the same address with
his father John, 42, a sailor and mother Sarah, 43,
along with siblings William, 16, Herbert, 12, Laurence, 10, Amy, 8 and Reginald, 4.

4th quarter 1899 married Sarah Annie Emmett.
In the 1901 census Frederick age 25, was a master mariner living at
44 Parson St, Teignmouth, Devon, with wife Sarah Annie 27
and son Frederick George, 3m, both b Teignmouth
