Jane's husband Henry was listed in Pigot's 1838 Directory as the licensee of the Globe Inn, Shaldon.

As Henry was a Teignmouth pilot it is likely Jane ran the pub.

The photo shows a pair of houses which are today private residences, but the one on the right is thought to have been the Globe Inn.
