Henry was registered as a Trinity House pilot for the port of Teignmouth on 1 Dec 1835, age 27.

He was listed in Pigot's 1838 Directory as the licensee of the Globe Inn, Shaldon.

The photo shows a pair of houses which are today private residences, but the one on the right is thought to have been the Globe Inn.

The accident in which he died is described in the newspaper article below.

It was the first recorded service by the Teignmouth lifeboat.
